Heading for Brisbane with Four on the Floor

We have a number of authors involved in exciting events around Brisbane over the next couple of weeks.

If you are in town come along and say hello.

Aleesah Darlison will be talking about Musical Mayhem, her first book in the exciting new Totally Twins Series.

Totally Twins is a warm and sparkling series about family, friends and fitting in. Kids will be captivated by 10 year-old-twins Persephone and Portia Pinchgut in this awesome new junior fiction series.

Peter Carnavas will be speaking about his moving picture book The Important Things.
Gillian Cromwell from Busy Mothers described Peter's latest book:

A special cake for this week's Kids Book Swap

Come along and help us eat some cake at Forestville Library.
We will be celebrating Book Week.

A special Kids Book Swap for Children's Book Week

Next week is Children's Book Week.Yay!

We are encouraging all the kids to come to Kids Book Swap dressed as their favourite children's book character. We hope parents might join in the fun too. We will be!

We are thinking a bumblebee, a sugar plum fairy, a super sorcerer, a teddy bear or a dragon. We are still deciding. Take your pick and we will see you there. 

Jo Oliver will be reading her two picture books, Pilgrim and Tatiara, answering questions and giving a few inside tips to budding illustrators.

There will, of course, also be cake.

Nick's Super SECRET project is still going!

Nick’s very SECRET project is coming along. We’re just wondering what it could be for? The only thing he will tell us is that it's to do with his favourite book!

There is only a little bit more work left until it is completed, so keep watching the blog to see the final results. You won't want to miss it!

Kids Book Swap photos

Author Peter Whitfield and illustrator Serena Geddes entertain the kids at Forestville library.

The kids chose some interesting characters for Serena to draw:

Part elephant, part dinosaur. The kids named him -Delephant!

Part snake, part monkey -sunbathing on a beach.

The next Kids Book Swap is on Friday the 27th August. Guest Author/Illustrator will be Jo Oliver.

To help us celebrate Book Week come along dressed up as your favourite book character.

We will bring the cake!

Kids Book Swap is on tomorrow

The next Kids Book Swap is happening tomorrow at Forestville Library.

Peter Whitfield will be reading his popular Zen Tails series and Serena Geddes will be sharing her latest picture books while showing off her flair as an illustrator. Serena will be drawing some of her favourite characters from Row, row, row your boat and Samuel's Kisses.

Sophia is baking cakes. Last month we baked 70 cupcakes which were all quickly consumed by ravenous school kids. Tomorrow we will have 100 beautifully decorated little cupcakes.

So come along, bring a book to swap and join us for a party to celebrate the end of the week.
